I have been wanting to update my mantle with fall decorations. I looked at many different sytles online and found pretty much what I was looking for.

This is the before... just a combination of candles, matryoshkas, vases and a Russian doll.
A view from the right side...
New decorations....
The middle...
This set of candlesticks was given to me by my MIL.
I love hiding pinecones in my arrangements.

The finished product...
I still think something is missing. I can't figure out what it is. Do you have any ideas?

Thanks so much for visiting my show and tell. I can't wait to hear your suggestions !

I can't wait to stop by your blogs and see your wonderful things!

That looks wonderful! One of those old fashioned cream crocheted runners would look nice peeking over the edge. I have no idea where you get those??? You did a great job! So Pretty~Blessings Heather

The Old Parsonage

Wonderful natural decorations! So very fall! Maybe a little something with height in the middle or lift the leaves etc. up a smidge. Although, I love it the way it is too!

Enjoy!

Hi April...

Oooh...I love your autumn mantle! I think it's pretty as is! I love how you used pinecones among the beautiful fall leaves! I ended up using alot of pinecones in my autumn decor this year too! I love the texture that they bring into the mix!!!

Well my friend, I just had to come by and say thank you for stopping in and taking a peek at my autumn living room! You left me such a sweet note...sure brought a big smile to me!!! I was reading your profile since this is my first visit to your delightful blog...and noticed that you live in San Antonio! I lived about 100 mls. south of San Antonio on Lake Corpus Christi for about 30 yrs. before moving to Colorado! All of my family, including my three daughters still live in south Texas!

Have a wonderful weekend!
Warmest wishes,

Your mantel looks lovely! I really like those candlesticks, and the hurricane lights, too.
I did a similar Fall theme mantel a couple of weeks ago -- I'm slow getting started on Fall decorating and might be hauling out the Santas and reindeer before I finish with the pottery pumpkins!

Hi April,
Many thanks for flying over to the UK! Thank you so much for your wonderful comments! Yes I'm in touch with a few of the girls from the quilt, over the years they have dropped off. Meaning 'stopped writing'. for one reason or another. But I still keep in very good touch with one really lovely lady from Austria. I just wanted to make something special to celebrate the Millennium and thought that was a really good idea which it was. Thanks your comments were really most welcome! Now I did visit your blog yesterday morning but that was a flying visit and I couldn't read as much as I wanted to! So I've just taken a while to read over now. I'm really surprised how you ladies in America go in for 'Fall'. Autumn is a wonderful time I agree I love to see the changing leaves. Walking through crisp woodlands is one of the greatest pleasures. But I never realised how you decorate your fireplaces, this is really new to me. Such a good idea. Now I have looked at the fireplace and to be honest I don't think anything is missing. It looks really good to me. You have got the balance just right. Not too little, not too much! You have some lovely children too. Love the photographs. You are like me, all I want is to be a Mother (twin daughters 23) and Wife (26years) to a most wonderful man. I too am so lucky! I do hope you will allow me to follow you. I hope you keep an eye on me too. I absolutely love sewing and 'mainly' crocheting and I hope you visit my Flickr photos. The link is on the post. Well its been really nice to chat with you April. HOpe we can become friends. Sue.
