And this...

No Pink Saturday this Saturday

I signed up for Pink Saturday last week but had no idea what the week had in store for me. My nephew came which kept me super busy doing things we normally don't do. But we've had a blast! Then Emil got a nasty case of strep and it looks like Lena is coming down with it too.
We played miniature golf last night and I was too tired to pull my PS post together last night when we got home at midnight. I thought I'd wake up early and complete this morning but Lena woke up with fever and congestion and sore throat and an ear ache. She's patiently waiting for me to give her a lymphatic massage.
Next week I will have pinkness for you but today I've got sick babies to take care of.
Have a great weekend!

Thursday in Pictures!'

Yesterday was quite crazy! I was able to go in to work late because we had a mandatory HIPAA meeting at 2 o'clock and since I'm part time I can only work my scheduled six hours. I usually go in at 7 so yesterday I was to go in at 8:45 a.m. Man was it nice to sleep 'til 6!! So Papa Bear and I went to a Mexican restaurant for breakfast. Mom kept all three kids the night before and it was just us. Papa Bear had been up aaallllllll night finishing two rings and hadn't slept and had a really bad sore throat. I could see how bad he felt so I called work and told them I would be a couple if hours late so I could take him to the doctor. It's a good thing I did... He tested positive for strep!!! After the doctor I dropped him off at home and went to work. After work I picked the kids up from Mom and went to pick up CC's medicine from CVS. While we were waiting Tren asked me if I remembered taking him to this donut place. No, not really, I didn't. He insisted I remembered and then CC said Krispy Kreme!! Exactly!!! So I asked Tren if he wanted some KK and a HUGE smile broke out on his pretty face. I pulled out of that pick-up line and the kids were LOVING it!! They gave us each a free hot donut while we decided what we wanted

He saw me taking a picture with my phone and tried to outrun me!!

But I got one anyway!!! I told him this is life with me, you gotta get used to having your picture taken......constantly!

Lena and Tren ordering donuts.
In the car on the way home he found a way to not get his picture taken....

Lena didn't mind having her picture taken.

And for once neither did CC! (maybe because she took this one herself!)

We ended up getting pizza for the kids. I was too tired to cook and Papa Bear was sick. But CC told me my pizza is soooooo much better than bought pizza. It was music to my ears! Tren was itching to spend some if his own money, so he ordered himself chicken wings.

And I snuck in another picture! Ha!! After we ate and the kids played we tried to wind things down and call it a night. The kids had another idea! They put on their skates and skated all over the house.

Tren skated Emil some water.

Finally around 10:30 CC put in their scary movie and everything settled down.
I was adding my total hours worked this week with my bank job and helping Papa Bear came to 45.5. I truly expected it to be alot more. This coming week it's guaranteed to be more!
Tonight we are finally grilling the steaks and taking the kids to miniature golf!

Park, Party and Tren!!

Last Saturday the girls and I, along with Luigi, went to a new park we found down the road from us. It's probably not really new, but it was new to us. So, we got some snacks and bottles of water and drove down. It was really nice, spacious, clean and pretty. However it was just too HOT!!! The heat index was 97 and this was only at noon!
There were lots of wild flowers....

Luigi loved being outside. I couldn't even get his attention to take one picture! CC was trying to make him look at me but something else was grabbing his attention....
We saw this tree along one of the paths. I just had to go back and take a picture because I thought it was so neat looking!

We walked around for a bit then went back to our table. We were so hot and thirsty! Even Luigi had his own bottle of water!!
And his own bag of puffy cheetos... CC was giving him the option of the big cheeto or the little cheeto.... he choose the big one!
My Lena enjoyed be outside at the park too. It's just so hot so early here that we don't get to enjoy much outdoor fun during the day. It cools off at night but then mosquitos come and it's just easier (and cooler) to stay inside!

After the park we went home and rested up for Stas' party later that evening. The girls and I were so very tired and I was slightly burned from our whole hour at the park. I really think we had a mild case of heat exhaustion because my whole body just ached and I was tired than I can remember being in a very long time!
Anyway, it was Stas' birthday party and we could not miss that. There are very few photos because I was so tired I forgot to take any! But here are the few I did take...
The table... all of the food was delicious!!
Sergey and Vladimir....funny, funny guys!
Lisa and Lena cutting and serving the cake! (Stas in the background w/Olga)
Lisa's homemade cake... from what I remember it was a Mississippi Mudslide with espresso cream filling....all from scratch! UN-BEE-LEAVE-ABLE!!! It was sooooo very, very good!
And that was the best cup of coffee that I've had in a long time. Lisa, you really out did youself! Everything was so wonderful!!!
Monday my nephew came to visit us for a few days. Lena woke up Monday morning at 5 a.m. telling me she couldn't sleep because she was so excited for him to be coming. She cleaned her room, washed dishes, cleaned the litter and the laundry room. I think he needs to come more often!!! I didn't get alot of pictures yet. I did take one with my camera of all three of them sleeping on CC's bed Tuesday morning but I haven't downloaded it to my computer yet. I took this one yesterday. The girls put this hot pink extension in Tren's hair and he was trying to walk in CC's wedges!!
Tonight they are with Mom. She took them to see the Karate Kid movie and then out for pizza. Emil and I are getting a much needed break. The house is quiet and I don't have to be in to work until 8:45 tomorrow so I am actually getting to post to this blog and sleep late! My goodness.... I feel like I'm on vacation!
Oh, I'm adding up the hours I work at the bank in addition to the time I put in helping Emil with his business. I am always so tired but I can't justify to myself why I'm tired. I only work 32 hours a week at the bank. But now I'm starting to see... Combined both jobs, Monday I worked 11.5 hours, yesterday I did 9 and today I did 9. It's starting to make sense to me. I'm intrested to see what my weekly total will be.
Tomorrow I'm taking the kids to miniture golf and ice cream. I'm not too sure about Friday, Tren is supposed to go home but I don't really want him to and I know Lena surely doesn't want him to. Hopefully he can stay longer.

Pink Saturday - Craftiques Mall

A couple of weeks ago a new crafts mall opened up, Craftiques, and it was advertising on the local news channel. The girls and I love to visit Homestead Handcrafts and this looked so much like it, we thought we should drive over and check it out.
It was very, very nice. There were much more antiques than crafts... but it was all just as well. I did come home with a couple of really cute things and again.. I didn't take pictures. But I WILL get them up...soon!
We saw so many cute things there I had to take my phone out and snap some pictures... especially when I saw this booth!!!!!
PINKIE'S PARLOR!!!
When I saw this I immediately thought about each of the participants and our wonderful host Beverly, on Pink Saturday...

Cute little perfume plush...
fun pink beads....
I really liked this little pillow...
This jewelry holder was so cute.... I wanted to bring it home!
loving this pink tea pot....
too pretty... another pink tea pot.....
and the matching saucer.....
this set was adorable. If I had my china cabinet this would have surely come home with me!
Here's a bigger shot of all the pink goodness this booth had to offer...
When I saw this key I thought of all the amazing crafty bloggers out there and all the wonderful things they could create with this. Me.... well, I probably wouldn't have even been able to think of putting this pink ribbon on it to dress it up. I can definately appreciate crafts and I really wish I could craft...but it stops there. I guess I have NO imagination!!!
I absolutely LOVED this costume jewelry. Some nights I stay up looking on eBay for old costume jewelry. I love, love, love it!!
This old phone reminded me of an oooollllddd Hollywood movie. I love those. The ladies were such ladies, so elegant in their dress and their manners.... I could spend all day watching those old movies...... Hey, I just noticed it has push buttons... I guess it's not too old.. but it sure is cute!
I took all of these photos on my phone, it's all I had with me. Lots of the details and colors didn't come out so clear and this is one example. This entire pillow was beaded in these small shiny pink bagguette shaped beads. It was sooooo pretty. Not practical, but pretty!!
And living in Texas, this pink cowgirl hat with a pink leopard print scarf couldn't have been more appropriate!
Laughter and Latte...that's my kind of book!!! And how cute is that little gumball machine?
These childerns ballet slippers seemed such a perfect fit for Pink Saturday... very nostalgic!
This old organ was so pretty...

There were several paintings at Craftiques. The girls thought the eyes of the children followed them and they told me they would NEVER allow me to bring a painting like this home...
But this one was ok with them!!! I love the colors of it!!!
This lamp is a perfect example of the mind of crafters... I would NEVER in million years be able to dream up this idea, much less create it!!!
But I love it!! The old books.....
The crochet shade...it's just perfect!!!!
I found this cutie on a shelf in another booth hidden in the back.
And this dress... I loved it. If I were many, many pounds lighter I would soooo wear dresses like this. I think this is how a lady should dress.. Maybe I'm old-fashioned...that's ok. I love this!!!
just look at these buttons.... then finish it off with a soft floral perfume... perfect!
Cute little note cards....
I love Elvis... so of course, I HAD to take a picture of this......
This was the last thing we took photos of. These are Afgani necklaces. They are so beautiful!
Look at this beadwork.....
I fell in love with these necklaces... but they were expensive and I honestly would probably never wear it!!! But I would definately love looking at them!!
I took more photos but it's just too many for one post. You're probably bored out of your mind by now!! I will be posting them later on though.
I also want to give a HUGE "thank you" to Beverly for taking her time and hosting this fun party for us pink-lovers each and every Saturday. I love to spend my Saturday morning outside with my roses, drinking coffee and looking at as many PS posts as I can! Do you have any "PS rituals" you do?
Today I am taking the girls to a park we found. We are wanting to go early and beat the heat. This should be fun. We are going to pack a light little lunch for us, lots of water and sunscreen!!!
