Rednesday at Homestead Handcrafts....

First, I can't believe it's already Wednesday and second, I can't believe I actually have a few minutes to put up a Rednesday post over at Sue Loves Cherries!

This past Saturday I wasn't rushing to do anything or be anywhere, so the girls and I headed over to Homestead Handcrafts, probably one of my favorite places to go! I can literally spend hours just perusing through the store. There is always new, beautiful things and I definitely have lots of items from them decorating my house!

My sister collects Coke products and Homestead has plenty to offer!

They always have the cutest displays set up. I LOVE aprons and this display really caught my eye!

You have to really take your time and look at each piece, other wise you could miss some really great deals!!

I know these have no red in them but I couldn't resist posting some Grade Cards from the 1930's!! Apparently "Charles Le Sage" was only promoted to the low 3rd grade...ouch!

I thought this was such a cute set-up. I love, love, love the Americana theme.

I am soooooo over it being hot!!! (In fact, our high Friday is 107!!!) I love fall, the colors, smells, decorations, and this display had me so excited and ready for fall to come!!!

I have no jungle theme in my house, but this cute little pair of monkey candles made me want to set up at least a jungle themed corner! They were too cute. And the palm tree candle holders??? Too cute!!

This little Keebler elf was one of my favorite red finds. I am seriously thinking about going back and getting him because I don't have a cookie jar and could really use one!

I can't wait to see all the other "red" posts. Don't forget to stop by Sue's lovely blog for more red goodies!

Breakfast Pizza - Rednesday!

It's Rednesday over at Sue Loves Cherries!

I haven't had time to participate lately...and I honestly should be doing homework (gotta love nursing school!) but I wanted to share today a favorite breakfast item at my home...

Breakfast Pizza.....

We seem to get in a breakfast rut sometimes and it's always fun to switch it up. When I was still in school my mother and I would stop at the grocery store's deliand have a slice before she dropped me off.

They used refried beans, eggs, bacon and cheese...

I usually use.....

fresh tomatoes and fresh, sliced mushrooms.

I scramble my eggs...

And lately we have been using Italian sausage instead of bacon.

I've been lazy lately (or is it too overworked and over schooled?) and havebeen using premade pizza crusts. I do have a really simple recipe for

old world pizza dough here, just no time to prepare it!

I also quarter them before baking. It's just much easier that way.
I sprinkle shredded cheese over the bottom just to help the eggs stick.

Next I add my Italian sausage...

Add a little more shredded cheese and then tomatoes...

A bit more cheese over the tomatoes...

And then add the fresh, sliced mushrooms. Sometimes we add in olives too.

Top with more shredded Italian cheese...

Then bake at 350 about 10 minutes or until the cheese melts.

And finally...enjoy!

Thank you for stopping by....

I hope I helped with some breakfast inspiration. Breakfast is where we always fall flat!

Outdoor Wednesday & Rednesday

I've been getting some good pictures at the park lately. We've seen deer, silk worms, squirrels, birds, you name it!! I had a sweet blogger mention to me I should link up to Outdoor Wednesday...so this is my first entry.
This little guy wasn't scared of me at all! I actually thought he was going to chase me for a minute!

Today is also Rednesday over at It's A Very Cherry World! I had to share this cute photo CC took on our way home from church Sunday... this car was parked next to us and this little doggy was so comfortable and relaxed, just enjoying his ride!
I don't know if you have ever tried Campbell's Soup at Hand...if you have, you know how good it is! If you haven't, you need to go try it immediately! When I worked I would take these portion sized soups with me and have it for breakfast everyday! It is so good and warm and tasty! Definitely the perfect way to start the day!
The Creamy Tomato Parmesan Bisque is my absolute favorite!
My mother gave me an amaryllis bulb a couple of months ago. I didn't have a vase to put it in so the bulb sat in a plastic bag. We noticed mold started growing on it so CC transferred it to one of her old betta fish bowls. We didn't think it would do anything! The very next morning the green stalk doubled in size. Each day we could see how big it had grown. Today it bloomed!

I had to transfer it to a bigger crystal vase because it was so heavy it kept tipping over the little fish bowl!
And...my favorite "red" today...yesterday on the way to the park I stopped at a different gas station than usual to buy water for us. I saw some lotto tickets and I was able to buy them with my debit card..lots of places don't let you. I almost passed this one up but decided at the last minute to get it...I'm so glad I did... I won $100!!!
So today I went back to Ross, bought each girl a new shirt, Mom and myself a jacket and Papa Bear a new laptop bag! And I still have half left! Now THAT'S some bargain shopping!

Rednesday

It's Rednesday at Sherry's wonderful blog It's A Very Cherry World!!
You should really pay her lovely blog a visit and see more fun reds!!

Today I'm sharing a garage sale find I scooped up this weekend! It was the first garage sale I stopped at and it was the first item I picked up!!

I asked Lena to help me hold this baby up..see her in the corner? This throw is huge!
I fell in love with the black and white checks....
and of course the cherries....

It did have some damaged areas....

And I started thinking...this looks like it could be a Mary Engelbreit...
And then I saw it......
well actually my daughters saw it.
They asked me "What does ME stand for?"
I couldn't believe I found a huge Mary Engelbreit throw for the unbelievable price of...
That's right...one dollar!! I couldn't believe it!
What I also couldn't believe was that no one had picked it up yet!
I got to the garage sale around 9:30 a.m.
Anyone who goes to garage sales knows that's kinda late!
The girls love it...
They take turns "claiming" it. It's been in CC's room lately.
I love the colorful fringes on the top and bottom.
I picked up another great woven throw at a different garage sale in the same neighborhood.
The dark colors just remind me so much of fall.
I want to light my fireplace and grab a cup of hot tea and just snuggle up with this throw.
I just wish the weather would cooperate!
Love the fringes too....
We found this tag on the back side.
I did a brief search on this maker and found these throws cost over $100 on their website!!!
It does have some snags on it...
Still, not too bad for a woven throw that cost all of $3.00!!!
I claimed this throw. It feels so warm and comfy.
I also bought three cute plates. Two are Spode and one is the cut glass that I love.
These two throws and those three plates set me back a whole $8.50!
Now that's some good deals!
